1. Having an email list gives you an audience no one can restrict you from communicating to them:

I started out on Threads and it was growing so well and fast. And then, one of those days, I followed too many people at once and got suspended and I know, I was wrong but that was heartbreaking.

That account might be lost and even yours can be lost right now regardless of the follow count you have. Maybe because you went against the rules or any other reason. And the way you solve this is by building your own audience where you won't be chased out anytime. That's your email list. Where your audience are always patiently waiting for you to say something. 2. You communicate directly to the people that love what you do: When you post on social media. It's for the public. And out of the many people that view your posts, your subscribers are the people who're attracted to your style and ideals, filtered from the others that either saw it childish or unimportant. Because no matter how you do what you do, not everyone would love the way you do things. So starting your newsletter assembles all those that are ready to pay attention to you. 3. Though there are many different tools in your digital marketing toolbox, email marketing continues to be the greatest driver of revenue for many businesses: Gmail alone which is the most popular email provider has over 1.8 billion active user accounts worldwide. The average user has at least 1.86 email accounts. According to statistics, worldwide, the number of emails sent and received per day in 2021 was 319.6 billion – 4.3 percent more than in 2020. Active email users worldwide as of 2022 was estimated to be over 4.258 billion. In 2023, it has been forecasted by Statistica that there will be over 4.3 billion people who will use email. And in 2024, barely half of the global population uses email. Here's a brief analysis:

So as you can see. It would keep rising year in, year out. Therefore, email marketing is still one of the best online marketing tactics that brands can use to reach and engage their target audience. Because; ▪︎Your viewers are more likely to read and take action on your marketing emails. ▪︎Consumers like to do business with companies that they like and trust. ▪︎Email gives you the opportunity to build this credibility with your audience by delivering useful and informative content that adds value for your readers. Through consistent and valuable email communications: ▪︎You can stay on top of your audience’s mind ▪︎Educate your readers on the topics that matter most to them. ▪︎Show your appreciation for their business by letting them know about special promotions. In fact, based on the latest figures published, it was stated that 41.9% of email opens are done using smartphones.

This means you can use email marketing to reach people no matter where they are or what type of device they are on, improving visibility and reach over time.

The purpose of writing on why you need an email list is to get you understand there is a wide range of audience waiting for you. And the day they finally find you. They would literally want to pay anything for your service. Some would almost do something like, "quarrel you for not coming on time in their lives".

And your email list assembles all of those people in one place where you build and offer mentorship.

The beauty is not mostly in the sales you make from an offer even though it always seem to be the main agenda for writing mails, but that through you someone was transformed, educated, free and also provided valuable materials to build what they do.

And so, settle it once and for all the time to start would always be now.

It seems simple; it’s just a newsletter, after all, right? Not so quick. Darren Rowse once said; – "It’s not just about producing content; it’s about creating something meaningful that earns your readers’ trust." And that's so true. Let's dive in:

1. Get clear about why it's readable at Glance (Subject line).

23.5% of emails are glanced at with an engagement time of 2-8 seconds. 15% of emails are looked at for less than 2 seconds. What that means is you need 5-7 actionable words to get your audience curious. And here's my framework on how you can create curiosity.

And therefore, when creating a subject line consider giving answers to whether it's offering; • Freedom • Life improvement • Opportunity • Survival and • Knowledge But if all of that is time wasting to you. No worries. You can just ignore it. That's just my way connecting to people in respect to what every human seeks and desires.

2. Draft a guide for your newsletter. It's simple and straightforward but shouldn't be ignored. Let me show what I'm taking about. Here's An example:

What this does is this; it prevents you from adding irrelevant points that are not important to the newsletter.

3. Prioritize your points. Except need be, but I'll advise you don't start by telling a long story or experience that doesn't resonate with why they opened in the first place. Most of the people that pay attention to your newsletter are quite busy. Not jobless (Only a few might be neither self employed nor employed). And so if they finally "click". Be very concise and conversational about how you introduce each point.

4. Get clear about your call to action. As you've known before, this could be; ▪︎A product you want them to buy. ▪︎A post you want to share. ▪A video you'd loved them to watch. ▪︎A context you want them to participate. And much more. Nevertheless, this mustn't be a link or product if you don't have one. Although it's best to have one. But then in most cases your best call to action isn't a product or offer. It's simply the emotions you've awakened in your audience to act especially if you intend eventually selling. This might be what Gina Bianchini meant when she said "It’s not about the length or the frequency, it’s about whether what you write moves someone to take action." Here's what I'm talking about; it's my brief selling guide. And I call it the selling circle.

This step is important cause it makes selling anything easy in that, ▪︎The awareness that they need it, is created. ▪︎They become knowledgeable about the possible outcome. ▪︎And finally would definitely love to try it out. 5. Define the Aim of your newsletter: The reason for this is to have your call to action in line with the aim of your newsletter. I think this is why Neil Patel said "A successful newsletter doesn’t just inform; it engages and inspires. That level of quality is difficult to maintain." What that means is, the aim of your newsletter should be to provide value. And this is where writing a newsletter becomes hard for many because it's not a onetime project. It's what you do continuously even when you're out of ideas.
